Since the mapping of the human genome some 10 years ago, Precision Medicine has been revolutionising cancer treatment.
Our Cancer podcasts help patients stay abreast of breakthroughs like these that may be life saving.
Many of these new treatments are not offered in our hospitals – but accessible overseas via the Grace Gawler Institute Global Cancer Navigation Service.
We do hope you find information on this page as exciting as we do and we invite you to listen to some of the inspiring podcasts on this site.
We especially recommend the two-part interview with Jeffrey Deslandes, now a 12 year survivor of stage IV non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Click here for Jeffery’s interview
Jeffrey’s eventual success was due to cell based immune therapies – a treatment that has also been highly successful for 95% of our stage IV patients. Click here for testimonials

The Grace Gawler Institute
Patient Advocate & Global Cancer Navigation Service.
Cancer Patient Advocate:
As a patient advocate for 43 years, Grace Gawler has ‘been there’ for patients
As many patients have stated – ‘she always has my ‘back.
In this time she has assisted 18,000+ patients to get a ‘ medical second opinion’ helping them to access the most effective appropriate cancer treatments.
Her work has created long lasting collaborations with leading cancer doctors and clinics throughout the world who provide breakthrough treatments for her patients.
Global Cancer Navigation Service:
Helping patients access state-of-the-art medical treatments, usually not yet available in our hospitals.
Since cancer treatments are not equal worldwide; stage IV patients regarded as palliative in one country, may be seen as curative in another country due to better resources, different rules & treatment protocols.
Precision Medicine:
Precision or personalised medicine is built on genomic testing and pharmacogenomics.
We believe it is the right of every cancer patient to access these breakthrough diagnostics.
Consequently our patients can gain access to these tests via a world certified Australian pathology laboratory.
Click here – US Gov Pub Med – Does personalized medicine hold the future for medicine?
We help our patients access state-of-the-art genomic diagnostic and screening tests which can accurately identify targeted treatments for cancer patients – these are not routinely used in most hospitals.
The tests lay the foundation for precision medicine, also called personalised or targeted medicine.
As a bonus: pharmacogenomic tests can determine whether the patient can metabolise (digest/absorb) the identified target treatment successfully.
These two tests have revolutionised cancer medicine with targeted treatments achieving better outcomes with minimal side effects.
Another of the core treatments responsible for exceptional outcomes for many of our stage IV patients is a unique blood-based immune therapy.
NOTE: the blood and blood tumour based therapies are safer and more predictable than the current group of drug based immune therapies now widely promoted in the industry – distributed by big pharmaceutical companies.
We help our patients access these immune therapies via the world leader in this science. Be sure to visit our testimonial page for more information. See orange button below.
